Masters of Drawing show at Medicine Man Gallery

   "Rabbit Hunter" (15x10) SOLD

Medicine Man Gallery in Tucson, AZ is hosting the Masters of Drawing show opening February 15th, 2025.  I will have 4 new black and white drawings and one full colour oil painting in the show...

                                                         "Let's Go Home" (14x10) SOLD

Three of the black and white drawings are acrylic ink on aged parchment tissue (about 25-35 years old).  I found a pad of the tissue in a set of old flat files I bought many years ago; The tissues texture lends itself well to dry brush effects with the black acrylic...

                                                               "Allegory" (15x12) SOLD

The smallest drawing done in acrylic ink on bristol board is a companion piece to the oil painting below, "Grandfather's Rifle".  All of the drawings are double-matted and framed under glass...

"Grandfather's Rifle" (24x20) oil on linen SOLD

The show opens to the public at the gallery at 4:30pm with a banquet to follow at the Lodge at Ventana Canyon for the artists and their guests...hope to see you there!

                                                              "Taos Hunter" (7x5) SOLD

Briscoe Museum Night of Artists show~

"Night Music" (12x12) oil SOLD

This piece along with 3 others will be heading to the Briscoe Western Art Museum in San Antonio, Texas for the Night of Artists show and sale opening in March.

I sold out there last year so I was invited back (maybe they would have invited me back anyway; they're really nice down there) but either way, I feel honored to participate again~

Really looking forward to this event and the momentum this relatively new show is gaining in the western art market!

STUDIO SALE!

I have been meaning to do this for quite a while; after painting for a number of years, you get a back log of paintings, studies, sketches and the like piling up in the studio... Some are smaller studies for larger paintings that went to galleries, some are things returned from galleries that haven't sold -- a lot of competition pieces from various shows,  and some are things I just never let go of because....who knows why?

Of course the dogs and failures I toss or paint over, so everything in this sale is frame-worthy (according to me anyway). There are between 350 to 400 plein air paintings, figure studies and some pastel drawings (even some old illustrations if you're interested)...

The studio is the big building behind my house in Tigard, OR on Saturday, June 14th -- come by for a snack and a free poster if you're in the area!

9am to 5pm  7311 SW Pine Street 97223 -- hope to see you here!
